Samsung announced the latest generation of its wearable tech in the form of Samsung Gear Fit2 and Samsung Gear IconX at the Galaxy Note 7 launch event today in New Delhi. The Gear Fit2 is priced at Rs 13,990 and the Gear IconX is priced at Rs 13,490.
Gear Fit2 is the second generation device after the Samsung Gear Fit, and the fundamentals have not changed coming from the first generation. The device is ‘gear’ed at tracking activities like cycling, running and elliptical. The Gear Fit2 comes with a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED curved display with special emphasis the user experience while being powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz. It has 4GB storage with a 200mAh battery that will last up to 3-4 days on 512MB RAM according to Samsung. The wearable has GPS, heart-rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and barometer sensors for accurate measurement.

Gear Fit2 comes in two sizes, 125-170mm for the small size and 155-210mm for the large size. This generation of the Fit2 has an additional feature where the users can compete with their friends to make fitness social and competitive. Though the feature is limited to one on one competition with a necessary connection to the mobile device.
Regarding compatibility, the device is compatible with Galaxy devices from Android 4.3 and above with minimum 1.5GB RAM. For compatibly with non-Galaxy devices, the device, needs to have at least 1.5GB RAM and Android 4.4. Gear Fit2 is water resistant with an IP68 rating, making it ideal for rough usage. Samsung Gear Fit2 is priced at Rs 13,990 and there are no details on availability.

Samsung Gear IconX
Gear IconX is pegged as the cord-free fitness earbuds designed to stay in the ear. Samsung claims that you don’t have to worry about losing the earbuds while walking, running or practicing with intelligent tracking.
IconX has dedicated voice guide to help users during their workout. These voice guides are available in 15 different languages, recorded by real humans to give a personal touch. The wearable comes with an ambient sound mode where you can exercise while listening to music as well as the real world. It can also double as a music player with support for 1,000 music tracks where the number of tracks cannot go beyond 1,000 regardless of the total file size.
The file formats that can be played by the IconX are limited to MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV and WMA. Samsung Gear IconX is priced at Rs 13,490 and there are no details on availability.

The case for Gear IconX has 315mAh capacity and can act as a portable charger for the wearables which pack 47mAh battery. It packs heart rate sensor, accelerometer and capacitive touch sensor and comes with 4GB storage. They also have a splash resistant P2i Nano coating to prevent any damage by sweat. On the connectivity front, they pack Bluetooth 4.1 and support a frequency range from 20~20kHz and 2 microphones on each earbud.
