Skype Will Soon Storm India

Skype is coming up with a new development, this development is that it is launching a Skype all India-specific version due to the company visualising India as one of it's future markets. The application was developed in such a way that it will keep India's low speed connection in mind. And also built based on low smartphone budgets which means it will run smoothly on low processor speed gadgets. This development has been put forward in an intense debate on Net Neutrality in India

During a conversation with Indian Express, Skype spokesman Filipp Seljanko, unveiled plans of a Skype app that will be built specially for India and he said that  “India’s 2G and 3G network, as well as the mix of phones in use, pose very specific challenges for us.” He adds, “The new application will be much lighter than the one now available, and will require far less computation resources and memory.”

The microsoft-owned company decided to build this application when their market research showed that their competitors e.g. Viber were providing better services for mobile users in India. Microsoft is also planning to integrate their new gadget, Hololens into Skype which will enable the users to see the people they are calling in real time.

Microsoft is hoping that the app will spur the sales of Lumia and Nokia Asha Phones which will have the app preloaded on it. However, no information has been provided as at when the application will arrive in the country.
