Do you have to be rich to attend a coding bootcamp?

"One of the biggest criticisms levelled against bootcamps is they don't attract many low-income students." said Paul Fain, in Inside Higher Ed. His evidence certainly seems to support the claim.
According to Course Report, about 79 percent of students who attend coding bootcamps have a Bachelor's Degree or higher prior to enrolling. Additionally, they found that the average pre-bootcamp salary is about $46,600, putting the students squarely in the middle class.

Moreover, the true cost of a coding bootcamp is relatively higher than the tuition itself if you insert the months spent unemploud during and immediately after the bootcamp. This calculator approximates that a person making $46,000 per year would need about $34,000 in savings to attend the average coding bootcamp. Contrary to this, 62 percent of people have less than $1,000 in savings.
Instead of modern coding bootcamps, low-income students are far better off attending for-profit universities.

President Barack Obama has praised coding bootcamps as a "ticket into the middle class."

In order to make bootcamps more accessible to the people who need them, two major changes need to be made. Firstly, we need to offer financial aid options that are suitable and beneficial to all students. Secondly, we need to consider part-time programs that allow students to work simultaneously.
