Playstation's VR Headset (Project Morpheus)

There it is, Project Morpheus, Sony's attempt at creating a virtual reality headset.

I stumbled upon this in Tech crunch, where the guy that posted it said that he got a chance to try out the demo. He explains that the demo was divided into two aspects - The first one is a sort of basic intro that gets you familiar with the system with a cool environment that reacted upon your gaze. It then moved to a scene that was a fun loop of input and interaction experiments based on the environment. It was all controlled with the Dualshock 4 motion controller sensor and the Touchpad.

He also added that one of the great things that Sony is working on now is positional audio. This literally means that whenever you carry an object that makes sounds such as an in-game I-pod, the sound produced moves along with the object.

The second aspect of the demo was more of a game experience as he said that an intimidating guy with a blowtorch will be threatening you according to the place you are looking at in a garage you appear to be trapped in.

What happens next - You use the Playstation move controller (The thing with the green and orange orbs on it) to open the drawer of an old fancy desk. In it, you see some magazines and a gun - "after solving a quick puzzle, the game turns into the most immersive arcade shooter games i've ever played"-he said.

You play the game while standing up, which leaves you vulnerable enough to gunfire. As more enemies entered the garage, he leaned under the desk and instead of pushing a button to come out of cover, he peeps in real life to see the enemies.

You know what, if you love gaming and you have enough not to totally empty your pockets, this might be the right one for you. Unlike others that needs very high-end systems to play on, this one runs on Playstation 4 console. Other Virtual reality headsets run on a system whose GPU is much faster than that of Playstation 4. You might want to grab yours right here.

With the 20 million Ps4 consoles already sold to consumers' various homes, undoubtedly, Sony has made progress in both their business and weighing down their competitor.
